[TEST PREPARATION]

How to prepare for a home sample collection

A short checklist that makes the visit faster and the sample better.

Home collection removes the travel, not the preparation. A few minutes of readiness keeps the visit to about ten minutes.

Before the visit

  • 01Check whether your tests need fasting; the confirmation message states it
  • 02Drink plain water unless you have been told to restrict fluids
  • 03Keep the prescription or booking reference handy
  • 04Keep a list of medicines you take regularly
  • 05Wear a sleeve that can be rolled up easily
  • 06Choose a well-lit place to sit with a table nearby

During the visit

The professional will confirm your identity and the tests booked, label tubes in front of you, and clean the site before drawing the sample. If a urine or stool sample is part of the booking, containers are provided with instructions.

After the visit

Keep light pressure on the site for a couple of minutes. Eat something if you were fasting. Report status is available through your account once processing is complete.
